Band contest

The Big Blue Crew took the field in competition Saturday, October 9, at Neshoba Central High School. Band director Mr. Sorto said, “this is the state test for band.” The band received the highest rating, All Superior, in every category; drum major, band, percussion, and color guard. Congratulations Big Blue Crew!

Panthers won 26-14 over NE Jones Friday night.

Dr. Dace

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Minnie Dace is the QSD Assistant Superintendent. Dr. Dace has 22 years experience in Quitman School District as Federal Programs Director, Principal, Assistant Principal, and teacher. A graduate of Quitman High School with multiple college degrees, Dr. Dace earned AA at JCJC, BS at USM, MS at MS State, and EdD from MS State. Dr. Dace worked as Federal Programs Director coordinating grants and overseeing special student populations for the last four years. Interim Superintendent Dr. Weathersby said, “Dr. Dace is highly capable, hard-working, and approachable. She has done an excellent job in every position she has held in education. Out of all applicants, we are excited to choose Dr. Dace to be Assistant Superintendent of Quitman School District.”

Girls volleyball seniors

Tuesday, September 28, was senior night for Lady Panther Volleyball. Seniors were honored by parents, fellow players, coaches, and the community. Lady Panthers played the West Lauderdale Lady Knights. JV game final score was 2-1 and Varsity was 3-0.
