Board Meeting Information

All Board meetings are public.
Regular board meetings are held on the second Monday of every month in the QSD Board Room located at 104 East Franklin Street, Quitman, MS, at 5:00 p.m. If a change is made in time and/or location, it will be posted a week in advance in the central office.

In order to make a presentation before the Board, an individual must first be placed on the agenda. To do this, they must submit an “agenda request form” no later than 12 Noon the last working Friday preceding the regular meeting the person or group wishes to attend or it will be held until the next regular meeting of the Board.  This form, which is a part of the Board Policy BCBI-KCA, Public Participation at Board Meetings, can be obtained from the superintendent’s secretary.

As stated in Board Policy BCBI-KCA, Public Participation at Board Meetings (issued 05/09/11) - The administration and/or the Board of Education requires that copies of any statement or prepared questions or comments accompany the request to be heard at the Board Meeting so that the Board may be fully apprised in advance regarding the matter(s) to be addressed.  Any problem must first be presented to the Superintendent, sufficiently in advance of the board meeting to give the Administration an opportunity to address the problem first, before Board consideration.  Failure to comply with the requirements established under this policy may result in denial of the request for placement on the Board Agenda until such time as the policy has been followed in its entirety.

Special Board Meetings

Effective July 1, 2017 a notice of the place, date, and hour of any called special meeting of the Quitman School District School Board shall be posted here on the Quitman School District website no less than one hour before the meeting. A notice of a special meeting is available for email to any citizen and any publication, broadcast, and digital media with a general circulation or coverage within Quitman School District’s jurisdiction. Simply email your request for notification to ccampbell@qsdk12.org.
