FBLA Travels to Nationals
This year’s FBLA national theme is “Create, Lead, and Inspire”, and six of Quitman High School’s excellent students did exactly that as they represented our district at the 2019 FBLA National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas on June 29 – July 2. These young people represented well as they competed in their events, attended workshops and exhibit booths, and networked with FBLA members from all over the United States and abroad.
Julian Noel and Baylee McDaniel competed in Entrepreneurship; Sean O’Neil competed in Impromptu Speaking; Logan Kelly competed in Business Calculations, and Amara Savage and Aldyn Minella competed in Journalism.
While in San Antonio these students were also able to take a beautiful night time riverboat cruise along the San Antonio Riverwalk, and they had a great time at Schlitterbaun Water Park, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and K1 Speed Go Kart Racing. The students also visited Komnata Escape Rooms where they used their smarts and worked together as a team to escape St. Angelo’s Castle.
We all want to thank our school board, administrators, and community for always being supportive.
I am super proud of all of these kids. They had to place in the top six at the district level and then, the top four at the state level to qualify for nationals. FBLA provides so many wonderful opportunities for students. I love these young people, and I am so blessed to be able to sponsor FBLA and be a small part of what helps to make them successful.
