2020 Panther Nation Graduation

While other area high schools were announcing graduation plans for their 2019 – 2020 senior class, Dr. Howard Savage and the members of the 2020 QHS Graduation Committee were surveying students, parents, and community members in order to create a custom ending to such a unique year for an amazing group of students.

Dr. Savage and the committee collected data from the surveys, and the resounding results explained that many wanted a traditional graduation to share with their families and friends. Thus, the QHS Class of 2020 will have that and more.

On Friday, May 29th there will be a Parade of Graduates from 9:00 a.m. till noon. The graduates will be chauffeured around Quitman High School twenty at a time in alphabetical order at thirty minute intervals. They will be cheered by some of their biggest fans, the staff and faculty of the schools they’ve attended. Each graduate will receive their awards, cords and a special surprise that day.

Then starting June 1st every QHS graduate will have a traditional graduation with twenty of their family and friends attending in Panther Stadium. The individual ceremonies will include photos and video and as many balloons, flowers and gifts as they and their friends can carry. Because of how important this day is, how hard these graduates have worked and how much they are loved, Dr. Savage and his crew are committing to the hours it will take to graduate 118 students. The 2020 graduation will last for 5 days and end on June 5th. It will be well documented for all of Panther Nation to see.

He is excited, and he hopes the 2020 QHS graduates are as well!
