What’s happening at QSD
Quitman Junior High Football team cleaned up the field with Carver in the rain. Quitman won 14-6. QJH next game will be against Oak Grove September 21.
Panther Varsity Football Team played hard but was edged out 30-24 by the Newton Tigers at Friday night’s game. So QHS is 1-1 going into this week’s away game against the Kemper County Wildcats.
4th graders are mastering their multiplication tables in math and learning about water, water cycles, and severe weather in science. QUE Principal Mrs. Schrimpshire and Assistant Principal Mrs. Chapman have introduced a PBIS system that inspires students to be their best every day in every way.
Kindergarten students are learning that authors write stories and books, and that illustrators draw pictures. Students are also discovering the number 10 and the letter P. In Art students are using the elements of rhythm and repetition in their painting.
Our Covid numbers continue to decline. Today we have 15 STUDENTS (less than 1% and down 19 from Friday) and 3 staff members out positive with Covid. Our excellent nurses continue to successfully lead
our efforts in each of our schools. Thank you for taking Covid seriously. Please continue to encourage your children to wash their hands regularly, wear a mask, and social distance. Thank you for your support for our students, teachers, and staff!

8th grade football played their first game on September 2, 2021 against South Jones. QJH won 28-8.
