QUE Students Win Art Competition

QUE art competition winners

Students from Quitman Upper Elementary and Ms. Madison, QUE art teacher, were honored yesterday by Secretary of State Micheal Watson. The awards ceremony took place at the Two Mississippi Museum in Jackson, MS. This year’s theme, “Voting- The Power to Change the Future,” encourages students to consider the importance of voting and how it corresponds to their beliefs and values. The students drew their superheroes depicting the power to vote. Caden Bonner won 1st place, Cali-Maize Simons 2nd place and Ja'Nilya Berry 3rd place. These students worked very hard to complete their drawings. We are very proud of them! They competed against other schools in the state of Mississippi in the 3rd-5th grade category. Students were excited to take home monetary prizes and a free admission to both museums.
