42,585 Books

QLE students participate in the AR Parade.

Yesterday began with Quitman Lower Elementary students taking to the streets. It was the annual Accelerated Reader (AR) Parade, and the students along with their teachers were celebrating the reading of 42,585 books during the 2017 – 2018 school year.

Mrs. Reeves class holds a banner announcing they read 7,901 books this year.

Each class held up a sign announcing the number of books they completed.

Students displayed their individual number of books around their necks, on their heads, and in their hands.

Students wear hats announcing how many books they have read.

They were obviously proud to march as examples to the Pre-K students cheering alongside them. Next year’s kindergarteners look forward to being a part of the 2018 – 2019 AR Parade. How many books will be read next year? We look forward to seeing.

Pre-K students already love the books they are reading in class and with their parents at home. And their parents already know that QLE Kindergarten registration ends today at 2:30 p.m.
